Securing Defense Community Infrastructure Program Grants: Lessons Learned from Minot, ND

This session will highlight how Minot, North Dakota successfully leveraged the Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP) to deliver transformative projects that strengthen mission readiness and improve quality of life for military families. From constructing a STEAM-focused Children’s Discovery Center in a remote region, to mitigating flood risks that impact base operations, to ensuring resilient highway access to Minot AFB, community leaders will share their strategies, challenges, and lessons learned in securing over $18 million in grants since 2020. Attendees will walk away with practical insights on building strong proposals, aligning local priorities with DoD needs, and executing projects that create lasting community and installation impact.
