Strategic Regional Collaboration to Address Installation Encroachment Concerns

The Department of Defense’s (DOD) military installations face external pressures that threaten their ability to conduct essential training, testing, and mission operations. These encroachment risks, including incompatible land development, weather-related events such as droughts, wildfires, and flooding, as well as foreign investment near critical assets, pose significant threats to operational readiness, infrastructure, and personnel safety. This session highlights how DOD leverages strategic partnerships across public and private sectors to help identify, mitigate, and prevent these encroachment challenges. By fostering collaborative solutions, DOD is strengthening installation resilience and safeguarding national defense capabilities to prevent catastrophic actions from our adversaries.
