Agreements with Universities: The Fort Benning, GA Case Study
Steinbeck 3
This session will provide a comprehensive look at IGSAs through the lens of key stakeholders. From the Department of Defense perspective, representatives from ASA IEE will discuss the legislative authority and strategic value of IGSAs in fostering innovative, efficient partnerships. Garrison leadership from Redstone Arsenal will share practical insights into how IGSAs have enhanced installation operations and mission support. Additionally, public partners such as universities and municipalities will offer their perspectives on how these agreements help address shared challenges—ranging from education, municipal services, childcare, and energy—by enabling collaborative, community-based solutions. The session aims to identify actionable ways to leverage IGSA authority to build stronger, more resilient partnerships between military installations and their surrounding communities.
